The debt ceiling debate has caused much for people to speak about and has caused the possibility of politics becoming even more of a circus in Washington than it already is. Those in favor of raising the ceiling are using tactics that are designed to scare and misinform people. This strategy will only serve to get people to accept paying more taxes and succumbing to higher taxes. Members of the public are urged to make sure that they are able to discern fact from fiction.

Politicians are going to have to accept that unless real change is brought about, they will not be able to avoid default. Default is daily occurrence thanks to trickery in monetary policy. The Federal Reserve is very adept at this as they cause quantitative easing which slowly but surely causes the dollar to devalue. This is not helpful to the American citizens as it eats away at their buying power. It also causes their savings to be inflated away.

In the last 3 years, the dollar has devalued by 50 percent against gold. While the Federal Reserve will have us believe that inflation is at 2 percent, economists feel that this figure is closer to 9 percent. Economists back this statement up with graphs to prove the point. Believe it or not, the administration is making noises about altering the formula of the CPI calculation and it is believed that they want to do this so that the damage of this poor fiscal management is concealed from the public.
