Gold Investment: Gold’s impact on the debt ceiling
debate
Gold Investment - 25 July
2011
The debt ceiling debate has
caused much for people to speak about and has caused the possibility of politics becoming even more of a circus in
Washington than it already is. Those in favor of raising the ceiling are using tactics that are designed to scare
and misinform people. This strategy will only serve to get people to accept paying more taxes and succumbing to
higher taxes. Members of the public are urged to make sure that they are able to discern fact from
fiction.

Politicians are going to have
to accept that unless real change is brought about, they will not be able to avoid default. Default is daily
occurrence thanks to trickery in monetary policy. The Federal Reserve is very adept at this as they cause
quantitative easing which slowly but surely causes the dollar to devalue. This is not helpful to the American
citizens as it eats away at their buying power. It also causes their savings to be inflated
away.

In the last 3 years, the
dollar has devalued by 50 percent against gold. While the Federal Reserve will have us believe
that inflation is at 2 percent, economists feel that this figure is closer to 9 percent. Economists back this
statement up with graphs to prove the point. Believe it or not, the administration is making noises about
altering the formula of the CPI calculation and it is believed that they want to do this so that the damage of
this poor fiscal management is concealed from the public.
